Wok and Roll is a Hidden Treasure for Chinese Food in DC’s Chinatown

Can I say the best Kung Pao Chicken I’ve EVER had!!! OMG…I thought I had gone back to China for a moment, not that this dish can actually be found in China but you get the point. 😉

My son and I decided to pop in and grab a bite before a movie. We only decided to go because I had a Groupon and it was soon to expire. Boy, am I glad I did. The food was so good and the portion was ridiculously large so I had enough left over for lunch the next day.

There Kung Pao Chicken only comes with celery and peanuts but you can add other veggies for $2 more. I hate celery so I opted to just have it with the peanuts. I ordered stemmed snow peas as a side dish ($2 extra charge).

I ate so much I thought my belly was going to burst. It was so good and I was going to the movies so my goal was to eat it all. However, my belly screamed mercy and I had to pack up the extra and carry out.

The food was as wonderful the second day as it was the first. That was indeed a pleasant surprise because Chinese food doesn’t usually lend well to reheating.

All in all, I’d give this place two thumbs up and I’ll most definitely be back. It’s a great hidden Chinatown gem that you simply must try.
