Recharging and Renewing at the Downhill Lounge – Sundance 2020
Covering the Sundance Film Festival has been a huge learning curb. There’s so much going on, so much to see, so much to do. As a blogger, attending for the first time, I must say it’s been a bit overwhelming.
Between trying to figure out which films to screen, you also have to figure out who to interview, which panels to attend, and what lounges to visit. On top of all that you have the physical strain of long days, high altitude, and frigid temperatures.
I’m so happy that I took time to pop into the Downhill Lounge today. It was a much needed respite from the hectic pace of Sundance. I had a soothing bowl of hot soup. Then, grabbed a cup of hot chocolate while I sat in the most thorough massage chair ever. Y’all the chair actually massaged my booty! LOL
By far though, the most interesting thing I did at the lounge was get my first tarot card reading. I was raised in a very superstitious family. Even though I reject superstition, I still find people involved in any type of mysticism a little bit creepy and I generally avoid them. I guess the superstitious still affect me on some unconscious level.
However, this time I figured why not try it out and see what the lady had to say. I’d been in a weird place emotionally and having a lot on my plate. It’s been a difficult past few months and I’d welcome a little insight, no matter the source.
The reading I was given was a eerie. She was way to spot on in her predictions and her advice seemed to be right on time. Click the short video below to her what she told me.
The Downhill Lounge was set up to celebrate the new film starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Will Ferrell. I was fortunate to see Will Ferrel but, sadly, wasn’t able to snap a pic.
Barely escaping an avalanche during a family ski vacation in the Alps, a married couple is thrown into disarray as they are forced to reevaluate their lives and how they feel about each other. Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Will Ferrell star in this biting comedy.

This lounge experience was just what the doctor ordered. I left feeling renewed, recharged, and very very happy. I hope you remember that no matter what you are doing or where you are it’s important to take time out and just chill a little bit.
