The documentary sheds light on the band’s journey, formed by veteran Dallas musicians, including bassist Danny Balis, keyboardist Chad Stockslager, guitarist Chris Holt, and drummer Matt Trimble. Led by the powerhouse first-time frontman Chadwick Murray, the Bastards of Soul quickly rose to local fame, generating buzz and signing with the Dallas-based Eastwood Music Group.

Despite facing an unexpected loss with Murray’s passing, the band persevered, releasing two albums posthumously, “Corners” in spring 2022 and “Give it Right Back” in November 2023. The first single from the latter, “You Let Me Down Again,” accompanied by an official video featuring behind-the-scenes footage from the documentary, serves as a poignant tribute to their final days together.

Austin anticipates the emotional resonance of the “BASTARDS OF SOUL” screening and the celebration of a remarkable journey from loss to legacy, reminding us of the unyielding spirit that music and dreams can embody.
