My Fat Fast Journey: A Biohacker’s Pursuit of Health and Wellness

A fat fast involves consuming 95% of calories from fat sources, with the remaining 5% allocated to protein and carbs. My goal was to keep protein at around 5% and eliminate carbs entirely, although I may end up with slightly different ratios.
Contrary to popular belief, a fat fast doesn’t lead to metabolic slowdown like calorie-restricted diets, as the body still receives sufficient calories to support its functions. Plus, the high fat content keeps hunger at bay—a major selling point for me, as I detest feeling hungry!
Throughout my fat fast journey, I meticulously tracked my weight, body fat percentages, and muscle mass to monitor my progress. Each day presented new challenges and triumphs, as I experimented with different meals and adjusted my approach accordingly.
For instance, my meals on day one included crispy bacon slices, a protein matcha latte, and shrimp sautéed in bacon grease, accompanied by a cayenne-infused chicken broth. Despite occasional deviations from my macro goals, I finished the day feeling satisfied and energized.
As I entered day two of my fat fast, I woke up feeling great, with stable blood pressure and glucose levels. Although weight loss progress was modest, I celebrated the small victories and remained committed to the process.
