The Showtime House of Music and Discovering Artists Before Everyone Else
One of the reasons I return to music festivals is simple: I love discovering artists before they become household names.
The Showtime House of Music created exactly that feeling. Every performance offered another opportunity to stumble onto someone whose work I might never have found otherwise.
Some of my favorite travel memories have not been famous attractions. They have been small rooms, street musicians, unexpected performances, and songs I heard once but remembered for years. Music gives a city another language, and when I travel, I like listening for that language as much as I like seeing the landmarks.
Discovery keeps festivals exciting
Big names attract crowds, but emerging artists keep festivals fresh. I always leave with a playlist that’s longer than when I arrived.
Music creates instant connection
You can stand beside complete strangers, hear one incredible song, and suddenly everyone is sharing the same moment.
That is why festival spaces matter. They give artists room to be heard and give the rest of us a chance to be surprised.
