Why Storytelling Is Part of Social Change
storytelling for social change became part of my story long before it became a clean headline. I kept seeing that facts could inform people, but stories could move them.
Stories Make Systems Visible
Systems can feel invisible until a human story brings them close. A story can show how policy touches a kitchen table, a classroom, a farm, or a mother trying to make rent.
That is why I write about sustainable development through lived experience.
Not All Stories Are Equal
Storytelling also carries responsibility. Some people get quoted. Others get extracted from. Some communities get studied but never heard.
Ethical storytelling asks who controls the narrative. It asks who benefits from the attention.
A Platform With Purpose
DG Speaks exists because I believe stories can challenge power and still feel personal. This space gives me room to write about diverse voices, food, culture, women, and travel without cutting the soul out of the work.
That matters because social change needs more than slogans. It needs memory, witness, and voice.
