Discovering South Dakota’s Landmarks: A Memorable Bus Tour

On my recent trip to Sturgis, I took the Bus Tour of Mounte Rushmore and the Black Hills. I didn’t travel with a car, no did I car to rent one. This tour is perfect for those who want to leave the driving to someone else and simply enjoy the sights. If you’re looking for a seamless, full-day bus tour in South Dakota that takes you to some of the state’s top landmarks, then look no further.

The day starts early with a morning pick-up in Rapid City (about 15 mins via Uber from Sturgis). You’ll then hop aboard an air-conditioned coach and head straight to Mt. Rushmore, one of the most iconic landmarks in the United States. The larger-than-life sculpture of four of America’s most famous presidents is a sight to behold, and you’ll have plenty of time to snap some photos and take in the view.

Of course, I had to take a pick of my home state flag, NC Baby! LOL

After Mt. Rushmore, the tour takes you through the breathtaking South Dakota Black Hills. You’ll be able to sit back and relax as you take in the stunning scenery. The drive is truly a highlight of the tour, and you’ll see why South Dakota is known for its natural beauty.

Once you reach Custer State Park, it’s time for a well-deserved lunch break (lunch is at your own expense). You’ll have a chance to enjoy a meal and take in the picturesque surroundings. After lunch, the tour continues with a drive through the Needles Highway. The winding road takes you through tunnels and past towering rock formations, making for some unforgettable views.

The final stop of the tour is the Crazy Horse Memorial. This impressive monument pays tribute to the legendary Lakota warrior and is still a work in progress. You’ll learn about the history behind the monument and have a chance to explore the visitor center.

This bus tour is an excellent way to see some of South Dakota’s most famous landmarks in a single day. The bus is comfortable, the guide is knowledgeable and friendly, and the itinerary is well-planned. If you’re visiting Sturgis, this tour is definitely worth considering.
