Markets Teach Me More Than Menus
I love a beautiful menu, but markets teach me more. They show what is fresh, what people buy without thinking too hard, and what a community values enough to keep returning for.
The market is a living classroom
Markets teach culture through voices, color, bargaining, patience, and local knowledge. They connect farmers, fishers, bakers, cooks, and families.
This is why I keep linking markets to farmers markets and food stories and women in food systems. Food systems become visible when someone is standing behind the table.
Local life deserves attention
I may book a polished food tour through GetYourGuide, but I still want time to wander through a market with no rush.
The bigger lesson is that markets reveal relationships. They show land, labor, money, taste, and survival in motion.
