The Travel Rituals That Keep Me Grounded
travel rituals became part of my story long before it became a clean headline. I learned that movement feels better when I carry a few rituals with me.
Rituals Create Familiarity
Travel can be exciting and disorienting at the same time. A small ritual can make an unfamiliar room feel less cold.
For me, rituals may include unpacking one corner, finding tea, taking a walk, or sitting quietly before the day begins.
Rest Belongs In The Itinerary
I no longer treat rest as wasted travel time. Rest helps me notice more. It also helps me make better decisions. Sometimes, a few minutes with Calm is enough to reset my nervous system.
That lesson later became important during longer journeys like the Camino.
Grounded But Open
The best rituals do not close me off from a place. They help me arrive fully. They give me enough grounding to stay open.
That balance is what I keep chasing in my travel stories.
