Behind the Brand: Derrick4Real and the Supa Unit Movement
When most people attend a concert or festival, they focus on the artists performing on stage. What they do not always see is the work happening behind the scenes to make everything come together.
During the Be More Grateful Festival in Concord, North Carolina, I had the opportunity to document one of the people helping move the culture forward: Derrick4Real, CEO of Savage Life Entertainment and a driving force behind the Supa Unit movement.
More Than a Presence at the Festival
From the moment I arrived, it was clear that Derrick was not there simply for appearances.
He was actively involved in coordinating activities, building relationships, and ensuring the event ran smoothly from start to finish. While the crowd focused on the performances, Derrick focused on the bigger picture. He was creating opportunities, strengthening connections, and representing his team at a high level.
Leadership in entertainment often happens behind the scenes. Throughout the festival, Derrick demonstrated the importance of showing up, staying engaged, and helping create an environment where artists and organizers could thrive.
Capturing the Moments Most People Miss
As a videographer, I enjoy documenting the moments many attendees never see.
The conversations backstage. The preparation before artists step onto the stage. The business decisions being made when the cameras are not rolling.

Those moments often tell the real story.
Derrick4Real’s presence throughout the festival served as a reminder that success in entertainment is about much more than what happens under the spotlight. The work taking place behind the scenes is often what creates opportunities for growth, collaboration, and long-term impact.
The Supa Unit Culture
One thing that stood out to me was the sense of family and unity surrounding the Supa Unit movement.
The brand represents more than music. It represents teamwork, loyalty, and creating opportunities for people who are willing to put in the work. There was a genuine sense of support among the people involved, and that energy was visible throughout the event.
Being welcomed into that environment allowed me to document authentic moments that reflected the dedication and vision behind the movement.
Building Something Bigger
Through my lens, I was able to capture the experience from a unique perspective, highlighting the people and efforts that help bring events like this to life.
The Be More Grateful Festival was not just about the performances. It was also about the individuals working behind the scenes to build something larger than themselves.

Festivals create opportunities for artists to connect with audiences, but they also provide space for leaders, entrepreneurs, and creatives to build relationships that strengthen the culture as a whole.
Leadership Beyond the Spotlight
Derrick4Real continues to make his mark through Savage Life Entertainment and the Supa Unit brand, demonstrating that leadership, vision, and consistency are just as important as the spotlight itself.
For those willing to look beyond the stage, the real story is often found in the people working tirelessly to make the moment possible. Their efforts shape experiences, create opportunities, and help build communities that extend far beyond a single event.
